Tom is a certified USPTA and USPTR tennis professional. "The Croc" has been coaching players of all ages and skill levels since 1977. Tom has held state rankings in singles, doubles, mixed and mother/son doubles.
Tom played the #1 singles position for three years in high school and was awarded a tennis scholarship to Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Tennessee. At the same time Tom was offered a full time pro position at a multimillion dollar facility in Omaha, Nebraska.
Tom felt the calling of teaching early on and opted for the coaching position. After six years of indoor coaching, Tom set his sights on Southern California. Tom had 14 years of success in the Southern California arena. Many of his adult students excelled in league tennis, and many of his juniors made their varsity teams. Also, many of his players who never played before got the chance to learn and fall in love with this great game.
Tom's instructional style for the beginner is to teach control of the ball and serve and rally techniques with efficient shot making skills. All this combined with learning the ability to compete with a steady train of thought. New players will be rallying and playing in as little as three lessons.
If you are an intermediate or an advanced player looking to score more victories, Tom will approach your game on two levels; shot making and shot selection. Tom will help you see the opportunities the tennis court gives you along with developing shot making skills to help you implement better strategies.
If you want the look of a world class player, Tom will work with you on shot design and technique. Pick your favorite Pro and Tom will show you how to execute the same style of shot-making.
